The wine region of Serra da Estrela is located in the region of Dão of Beiras of Portugal. Wineries and vineyards like the Domaine Casa da Passarella or the Domaine Antonio Madeira produce mainly wines white, red and pink. The most planted grape varieties in the region of Serra da Estrela are Touriga nacional, Fernao Pires and Alvarinho, they are then used in wines in blends or as a single variety. On the nose of Serra da Estrela often reveals types of flavors of non oak, earth or microbio and sometimes also flavors of oak, spices or red fruit.
In the mouth of Serra da Estrela is a powerful with a nice freshness. We currently count 3 estates and châteaux in the of Serra da Estrela, producing 5 different wines in conventional, organic and biodynamic agriculture. The wines of Serra da Estrela go well with generally quite well with dishes of beef, lamb or game (deer, venison).
