The wine region of Orvieto is located in the region of Ombrie of Italy. Wineries and vineyards like the Domaine Antinori or the Domaine Barberani produce mainly wines white, red and sparkling. The most planted grape varieties in the region of Orvieto are Verdelho, Chardonnay and Merlot, they are then used in wines in blends or as a single variety. On the nose of Orvieto often reveals types of flavors of honey, straw or tropical fruit and sometimes also flavors of tropical, oaky or smoke.
In the mouth of Orvieto is a with a nice freshness. We currently count 67 estates and châteaux in the of Orvieto, producing 89 different wines in conventional, organic and biodynamic agriculture. The wines of Orvieto go well with generally quite well with dishes of pasta, vegetarian or appetizers and snacks.
