The wine region of Carso is located in the region of Frioul-Vénétie Julienne of Italy. Wineries and vineyards like the Domaine Zidarich or the Domaine Kante produce mainly wines white, red and sparkling. The most planted grape varieties in the region of Carso are Terrano, Cabernet-Sauvignon and Merlot, they are then used in wines in blends or as a single variety. On the nose of Carso often reveals types of flavors of orange, tree fruit or oil and sometimes also flavors of non oak, earth or microbio.
In the mouth of Carso is a powerful with a nice freshness. We currently count 7 estates and châteaux in the of Carso, producing 42 different wines in conventional, organic and biodynamic agriculture. The wines of Carso go well with generally quite well with dishes of pasta, shellfish or mature and hard cheese.
