The wine region of Metsovo is located in the region of Ioannina of Epiros of Greece. Wineries and vineyards like the Domaine Katogi Averoff or the Domaine Katogi Averoff produce mainly wines red, white and pink. The most planted grape varieties in the region of Metsovo are Cabernet-Sauvignon, Merlot and Agiorgitiko, they are then used in wines in blends or as a single variety. On the nose of Metsovo often reveals types of flavors of cherry, stone or floral and sometimes also flavors of citrus fruit, tree fruit or dried fruit.
We currently count 2 estates and châteaux in the of Metsovo, producing 14 different wines in conventional, organic and biodynamic agriculture. The wines of Metsovo go well with generally quite well with dishes of beef, lamb or spicy food.
