The Veuve Pelletier & Fils Estate, located in the Marne department in Champagne, is one of the oldest Champagne houses in operation for centuries. Beautiful melodies of vineyards, orchards, and fields intersect to offer exquisite berries, a terroir that is carefully vinified and maintained to the highest degree of quality throughout all stages of winemaking, ultimately producing the finest Champagne wines of excellence. Veuve Pelletier & Fils Champagne is produced using artisanal methods, with grapes harvested at maturity. Each plot is blended to create unique vats, which are then bottled and stored in cellars at a low temperature. The vat is where the nuances of the aroma and flavors begin to emerge, and it is only the finest gems that are selected and produced with the utmost care to offer you an unforgettable bottle. During the winemaking process, vineyard sugars are used to enrich the alcohol, once the alcohol is added, the wine is bottled as quickly as possible. The wine is primarily likely to mature for two years, firm and stable in their cellars, before being put on the market to satisfy the palates of consumers. The house ensures exceptional quality by following pro-biotic methods to promote biological life, rigorous control of fermentations, and minimal interventions to best preserve the aromas and flavors as well as the active principles. The Veuve Pelletier & Fils Estate is dedicated to the production of high-end wines, and to live up to consumers' expectations, this Champagne house has made quality selection their main motto.

Discovering the wine region of Champagne

Champagne is the name of the world's most famous Sparkling wine, the appellation under which it is sold and the French wine region from which it comes. Although it has been used to refer to sparkling wines around the world - a point of controversy and legal wrangling in recent decades - Champagne is a legally controlled and restricted name. See the labels of Champagne wines. The fame and success of Champagne is, of course, the product of many Complex factors.

Yet there are three main reasons we can be reasonably certain of. First, the large bubbles, which distinguish it from less "exciting" wines. Second, the high prices that champagne commands, which give it a sense of exclusivity and uniqueness. Third, two centuries of clever marketing to a willing and very receptive consumer base.

The word of the wine: Draft liquor (champagne)

After blending, the wine is bottled with a liqueur de tirage (a mixture of sugar and wine) and a yeast (selected yeasts). The yeast attacks the sugar and creates carbon dioxide. The fermentation, which lasts about two months, is prolonged by an ageing period (15 months minimum in total). The bottle is capped (some rare vintages are capped with a staple and a cork).
