Discover the grape variety: Fruhroter Veltliner

Structured and full dry whites with a pale, slightly rosé golden robe, an ample palate and moderate acidity, with signature aromas of almond, ripe yellow fruits (pear, peach, apricot), white flowers (acacia) and mineral notes. A sun-drenched profile appreciated in characterful artisanal cuvées. Grown mainly in Lower Austria (Kamptal, Wagram), rarer than Grüner Veltliner. Native Austrian grey grape, an early-ripening reddish-skinned mutation of Roter Veltliner.

The wine region of West Virginia

Mountainous American state (Appalachians) with cold winters and humid summers, pioneer viticulture across three AVAs (Kanawha River Valley, Ohio River Valley, Shenandoah Valley). French hybrids and native varieties dominate: taut Seyval Blanc with citrus, semi-sweet floral Vidal Blanc, Chambourcin as the signature red with ruby cherry, blackberry, pepper and a smoky touch, supple tannins and fresh acidity. Bold Marechal Foch. Lively Riesling in the cooler eastern panhandle.

The word of the wine: Wine vinegar

Product of acetic fermentation of wine.
