Easy-drinking, low-alcohol thirst-quenchers best drunk young. Once ubiquitous in the 19th century, now marginal but preserved in IGP Pays d'Hérault. An autochthonous Languedoc variety, currently in revival for modern light cuvées.

Styrian DAC of south-eastern Austria (renamed Vulkanland Steiermark): Sauvignon Blanc and Welschriesling are the signature white kings — chiselled signature profile with herbaceous and mineral notes, tropical fruit, citrus and wild herbs, lively acidity balancing aromatic complexity.
