The wine region of Galluccio

Campanian DOC (1997) north of Caserta near the Lazio border, volcanic soils rich in potassium from the extinct Roccamonfina volcano. Aglianico red (≥70%): intense ruby with black cherry, plum, spice and smoky volcanic notes, firm tannins and excellent ageing. Falanghina indigenous white (≥70%): dry and lively with citrus, white flowers, green apple and mineral hints. Also a delicate rosato.

The wine region of Campania

Cradle of southern Italy's great wines on volcanic soils. Majestic Aglianico in red: structured, deep and tannic with notes of black cherry, candied plum, leather and spices, sublimated in age-worthy Taurasi DOCG, the "Barolo of the south". Identity whites of Irpinia: opulent Fiano di Avellino (honey, hazelnut), mineral iodine Greco di Tufo, aromatic Falanghina (peach, flowers). Also supple Piedirosso.

The word of the wine: Clarity

The state of translucency of a wine. A clear wine is not cloudy (which is a defect).
