Obtained in Hungary in 1930 by Pal Kocsis by crossing the pozsonyi fehér (pressburger or white presburg) and the pearl of Csaba. This double-ended variety is found in Hungary, Ukraine, Russia, the Slovak Republic (small Carpathians), the Czech Republic (Moravia), etc. It is virtually unknown in France.

The wine region of Slovakia
Slovakia (officially The Slovak Republic) is a landlocked country described as being either at the eastern edge of Western Europe, or the western edge of Eastern Europe. A method of maturing practiced in Andalusia for certain sherries, which aims to continuously blend older and younger wines. It consists of stacking several layers of barrels; those located at ground level (solera) contain the oldest wines, the youngest being stored in the barrels on the upper level. The wine to be bottled is taken from the barrels on the lower level, which is replaced by younger wine from the upper level, and so on.
