Premier Cru (2. 67 ha) facing Concombre, mid-slope north of Nuits-Saint-Georges, south-facing — calcareous brown soils over grey Bathonian marls, light white and some iron-red limestone pebbles: signature Pinot Noir in red — fine and silky with notes of cherry, blackberry, leather and spices, firm but classy tannins, persistent and savoury finish. Very "Nuits" character with tannic depth and fruity richness. Cellars 8-12 years.

Italian star of Verdicchio: exceptional age-worthy whites, straight and mineral with signature notes of green almond, lemon, green apple, dry herbs and a slightly bitter finish. Two DOCGs: Castelli di Jesi (coastal, airy) and Matelica (inland, more concentrated). Mediterranean reds: fleshy Montepulciano in Rosso Conero near Ancona, supple Sangiovese. Also fresh Pecorino and Passerina.
The word of the wine: Mistelle
Unfermented must with added brandy, also called liqueur wine: Pineau des Charentes, Floc de Gascogne, Macvin du Jura, Ratafia, Cartagène du Languedoc.
