The Pehu Simonet Estate is a vineyard located in Champagne, France, renowned for producing high-quality sparkling wines. The property, dating back to 1874, belonged to the Pehu family from which it retained its name. It was Manou du Chêne, the grandmother of Michel Pehu, the current owner of the estate, who planted small Pinot Meunier vines back in the day. Today, the vineyard stretches over about 30 hectares, on the south-east slopes of the Montagne de Reims, a few minutes from the city of Epernay. The Pehu Simonet Estate has always been committed to respecting nature, working exclusively with products derived from sustainable agriculture. The vines are rounded and pruned in a way that presents the best bunches of a vine. The 3 main grape varieties are Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier. The stratification of soil and climate, as well as the typicity of each terroir, ensure distinctive characteristics and aromatic grapes that are unique to the estate. The various stages of sparkling wine production take place in the cellars, where the wines are kept at a constant temperature of 8-12 degrees Celsius. After disgorging, the wines are bottled and kept for 2 to 3 years before they are ready to be sold. The Pehu Simonet Estate has built a strong reputation as a producer of environmentally friendly sparkling wines. The wines produced are among the most prized in Champagne, and are recognized for their broad aromatic palette and delicacy. The estate’s production is done in small quantities, ensuring exceptional wine quality. Wine enthusiasts will be delighted to discover high-quality products and unique flavors that will enhance any dishes they are paired with.

Discovering the wine region of Champagne

Champagne is the name of the world's most famous Sparkling wine, the appellation under which it is sold and the French wine region from which it comes. Although it has been used to refer to sparkling wines around the world - a point of controversy and legal wrangling in recent decades - Champagne is a legally controlled and restricted name. See the labels of Champagne wines. The fame and success of Champagne is, of course, the product of many Complex factors.

Yet there are three main reasons we can be reasonably certain of. First, the large bubbles, which distinguish it from less "exciting" wines. Second, the high prices that champagne commands, which give it a sense of exclusivity and uniqueness. Third, two centuries of clever marketing to a willing and very receptive consumer base.
