Structured, tannic reds with a deep, intense ruby colour, firm tannins and a dense palate, showing signature aromas of black fruits (blackberry, blackcurrant), black cherry, spices, pepper and earthy notes. Fine ageing potential with a rustic, authentic character. A traditional component of Irancy AOC in the Yonne, adding colour and structure in blends with Pinot Noir. Indigenous Burgundian variety of the northern Yonne terroirs, with presumed Gaulish origins.

The wine region of Zenatta

Traditional vineyard of western Algeria (Tlemcen), hot and dry terroirs at the foot of the Tell Atlas. Signature Cinsault, Carignan, Grenache and Alicante Bouschet in meaty reds with ripe cherry, plum, garrigue, spice and balsamic warmth, round tannins and full Mediterranean palate. Fresh fruity rosés. Clairette and Macabeo in lively whites with florals and citrus.

The wine region of Rabat/Casablanca

Atlantic wine region of Morocco (western coast between Rabat and Casablanca, Atlas foothills), climate tempered by the ocean, clay-limestone and gravelly soils. Cinsault, Grenache, Carignan, Syrah, Cabernet and Merlot as dominant signatures (75%) — fleshy and fruity reds with intense ripe cherry, plum, red fruits and a spiced-balsamic Moroccan touch, round tannins. Chardonnay and autochthonous Faranah and Tamerzit as whites with exotic fruits. Five AOGs.

The word of the wine: Decanting

A sommelier uses a decanter to separate the clear wine from the solid parts in a bottle.
