Interspecific crossing between 29 Seibel (70 jeager x Vitis Vinifera unknown) and the danugue made by Eugène Contassot, who would have given the seeds of the harvested grapes to Albert Seibel (1844-1936). The King of the Blacks has been widely cultivated, particularly in southwestern France and in the center-west, where we have found and photographed it. The wine region of Seyssel

Seyssel is the only single-Village appellation in Savoie, located 32 km South of Geneva on the western edge of the French Alps. Wine has been produced in Seyssel since the 11th century and over the years the area has built up a reputation for high quality, helped by the tourists who have always flocked to the region. Although still white wines are allowed by appellation law, the region is best known for its Rich, Floral">floralSparkling wines, mainly from the Altesse and Chasselas grapes. The village of Seyssel is located on Part of the Haut-Rhône, as it forms the westernmost border of Savoie before heading south to the famous hillsides of the Rhone Valley wine region.

The wine region of Savoie

Savoie is a wine region in eastern France, in the mountainous areas just South of Lake Geneva and on the border with Switzerland. The location and geography of the region has very much defined its Character, which is fragmented, hilly and slightly Swiss. This is evident in the fresh, crisp white wines produced here, as well as in the labels of the region's wines. Many bear a white cross on a red background - the flag of Switzerland and Savoy.

The word of the wine: New wine

Wine of the year, fruity and easy to drink. Beaujolais Nouveau is not the only one in this category, the Côtes-du-Rhône, Touraine and Gaillac appellations also produce new wines.
