Vanilla is the ‘most pleasant’ smell, finds study

Vanilla was ranked as the most pleasant smell in a study involving 235 people and conducted by an international network of researchers, including those from the University of Oxford and the Karolinska Institute in Sweden. During the vinification process, a "cap" is formed at the top of the vats with the solid parts (skin, pulp, pips, etc.), which contain tannins and colouring elements.
