The wine region of Béarn

Pyrenean piedmont AOC (259 ha across Pyrénées-Atlantiques, Hautes-Pyrénées and Gers), river terrace alluvials, oceanic climate with foehn influence. Tannat is the rustic native king red: deeply coloured, rich and tannic, with ripe dark fruits, spices and structured tannins, long ageing potential, blended with Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. Petit Manseng, Gros Manseng and Courbu yield aromatic, expressive whites.

The wine region of South West

French mosaic of strong identities south of Bordeaux. Cahors and its Malbec ("black wine"): deep reds with notes of blackberry, plum, violet, tobacco and cocoa, firm tannins. Madiran and its dense, age-worthy Tannat. Jurançon whites: golden sweet (apricot, honey, pineapple) and lively dry from Petit Manseng.
