Discover the grape variety: Aglianico
Powerful, tannic reds with deep colour and tight structure, with aromas of black cherry, blackberry, leather, tobacco, coffee and balsamic-volcanic mineral notes. High acidity and very fine ageing potential, often compared to nebbiolo. Star of Taurasi DOCG in Campania and Aglianico del Vulture DOCG in Basilicata (vines planted on volcanic soils). The wine region of Cilento
Campanian DOC south of Salerno (Cilento Natural Park, 59 communes), Mediterranean climate with hot summers and mild winters. Aglianico is the signature red (60–75% of the Rosso): dense and complex with black cherry, blackberry, plum, leather, tobacco and balsamic notes, firm tannins — blended with Piedirosso and Primitivo. Fiano ("Santa Sofia") is the signature white (60–65%): vibrant and mineral with citrus, pear, white flowers and a smoky hint. Greco and Trebbiano complement.
The wine region of Campania
Cradle of southern Italy's great wines on volcanic soils. Majestic Aglianico in red: structured, deep and tannic with notes of black cherry, candied plum, leather and spices, sublimated in age-worthy Taurasi DOCG, the "Barolo of the south". Identity whites of Irpinia: opulent Fiano di Avellino (honey, hazelnut), mineral iodine Greco di Tufo, aromatic Falanghina (peach, flowers). Also supple Piedirosso.
The word of the wine: Clairet
Strong rosé wine reminiscent of a light red.
