High acidity and fine ageing potential. Often made by the ancestral qvevri method (buried clay jar), it signs the great Georgian reds of Kakheti (Mukuzani, Kvareli, Napareuli). Also in Russia, Ukraine and Australia. Ancient Georgian variety.
