The wine region of Alpes-Maritimes
Coastal IGP from the Nice hinterland (PGI 2009, siliceous-limestone Mediterranean terraces, mistral and tramontane as climate regulators, adjacent to AOC Bellet). Folle Noire and Braquet are signature indigenous reds (blended with Grenache-Cinsault) — bold profile with fine Mediterranean red fruits and balanced structure. Rolle (Vermentino) the signature white (80–90 %), floral and aromatic; Chardonnay and Clairette add fruity notes. Rosés show the typicity of Braquet.
The wine region of Méditerranée
Vast IGP of south-east France (Provence, Vaucluse, Var, Corsica, Ardèche), 75% rosés. Fresh, fruity rosés with signature notes of strawberry, raspberry, citrus, white flowers and a Mediterranean touch, taut and thirst-quenching on the palate — the quintessential sunny aperitif. Supple reds blending Grenache, Syrah, Cabernet and Merlot (red fruits, garrigue, spice), full whites of Viognier (apricot, flowers) and Chardonnay. Generous everyday wines, expression of the south.
The word of the wine: Servadou iron
A black grape variety from the southwest that produces a wine with spicy tannins and black currant and raspberry aromas. Under the name of Mansois, it is the main grape variety of Marcillac; it is also one of the important varieties of Gaillacois, where it is called Braucol. It is also used in the blends of other South-Western appellations (Fronton, Lavilledieu, Estaing, Madiran). Syn.: braucol, pinenc, mansois.
