Lively, simple and fruity whites with a pale golden colour, an airy palate with preserved acidity, and discreet aromas of citrus, white-fleshed fruits and white flowers. Also used in sparkling bases. Disease-resistant and cold-hardy. Grown in the United Kingdom, Canada (Québec) and the north-eastern United States for northern climates. Family of French hybrid varieties developed by Bertille Seyve in Bourgoin-Jallieu (Isère), the best known being Seyval Blanc.

Cradle of Port: opulent fortified wine with notes of candied black fruit, cocoa, fig, walnut and spice, from young fruity Ruby to oxidative amber Tawny, plus age-worthy LBV and Vintage of exceptional cellaring. Also great dry Douro DOC reds, structured and deep (violet, black-fruited Touriga Nacional, elegant Touriga Franca, spicy Tinta Roriz). A few fresh Douro whites. Supple Touriga Franca and spicy Tinta Roriz as complement. Fresh mineral whites and creative modern sparkling.
