Croatina is the autochthonous signature variety (≥80%, here called Bonarda di Cisterna, century-old vines) as the king red: deep ruby with vibrant notes of ripe cherry, crushed raspberry, blackberry, violet and a peppery touch, supple tannins and lively acidity with a gourmand bitterness. Dry and fruity young, or age-worthy Superiore. A gem from the Asti hills.

More accessible, tangy Barbera on red fruit, supple, crisp Dolcetto. Sweet, floral sparkling Moscato d'Asti, mineral, lemony Gavi (Cortese) white, round, almondy Arneis from Roero. 50,000 ha across the Langhe, Roero and Monferrato, UNESCO.
