The wine region of M&#283ln&iacutek (CZ)

Bohemian sub-region at the confluence of the Elbe and Vltava (north of Prague), limestone subsoil and sandy gravels, continental climate. Pinot Noir is the historic signature red (imported from Burgundy by Charles IV in the 14th century): fine and silky with cherry, raspberry, woodland floor and a spiced hint, delicate tannins. Saint Laurent (~14% of the vineyard) as a fuller red with juicy black cherries, spice and a chocolate hint. Taut, mineral Riesling as the signature white.

The wine region of Bohemia

Northern Czech wine region (4% of national vineyard, sub-regions Mělník and Litoměřice north of Prague), continental climate with moderate summers, limestone and gravelly-sandy soils. Müller-Thurgau is the signature white (26% of vines): light and fresh with citrus, white flowers and a hint of muscat. Riesling (16%) taut; Saint Laurent (14%) a spicy red close to Pinot Noir; Blauer Portugieser supple; Pinot Noir historically Burgundian.

The word of the wine: Malic (acid)
