Structured, coloured reds with a deep purple robe, firm tannins and a dense palate with preserved acidity. Signature aromas of black fruits (blackberry, blackcurrant), plum, spices, pepper and balsamic notes from the Rioja. Fine ageing potential. First and largest AVA in Arizona in the grassy high plateaus of the south (1,370-1,580 m), surrounded by four mountain ranges, red sandy-gravelly soils rich in limestone. Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Mourvèdre are the signature reds: dense and mineral with concentrated dark fruit, garrigue, pepper and an earthy touch, firm tannins — rustic and complex style. Bold Petite Sirah and Aglianico. Chardonnay and Viognier among the whites.
