Discover the grape variety: Gouget noir
Simple, light and fruity reds with a lightly coloured clear ruby hue, soft tannins and an airy palate with moderate acidity, showing understated aromas of red fruits. Discreet, rustic profile. Almost disappeared, preserved in INRAE varietal collections, it bears witness to the pre-phylloxera ampelographic diversity of central and south-western France. Rare French black variety (synonym of Gouget), formerly grown in central and south-western France.

The wine region of Vernaccia di Serrapetrona
DOCG of the Marche, province of Macerata (first DOCG of the Marche 2004, vineyards at 200–600 m on calcareous-clayey-sandy-marly hillsides, temperate climate moderated by the Adriatic 60 km away and the Apennines, breezes and modulating fogs): Vernaccia Nera is the native signature (≥85%) — a unique naturally sparkling red by triple fermentation, aromas of red fruits and spices. Sangiovese, Montepulciano or Ciliegiolo (≤15%) as complements, historical secco and dolce versions.
The wine region of Marche
Italian star of Verdicchio: exceptional age-worthy whites, straight and mineral with signature notes of green almond, lemon, green apple, dry herbs and a slightly bitter finish. Two DOCGs: Castelli di Jesi (coastal, airy) and Matelica (inland, more concentrated). Mediterranean reds: fleshy Montepulciano in Rosso Conero near Ancona, supple Sangiovese. Also fresh Pecorino and Passerina.
The word of the wine: Amber
(1) A colour close to amber, sometimes taken on by white wines aged for a long time, or by oxidising prematurely. (2) A term used on the label to designate white Rivesaltes aged for at least thirty months in an oxidizing environment.
