Whites with many faces: mineral and taut at Chablis (lemon, green apple, flint), opulent and buttery at Meursault and Puligny-Montrachet (hazelnut, brioche, yellow fruits), tense and chalky in Champagne (Blanc de Blancs). Also vinified sparkling and widely exported (Sonoma, Margaret River, Casablanca). A Burgundian variety, a cross of Pinot Noir × Gouais Blanc, half-sibling of Aligoté.

South African ward at the heart of the Klein Karoo, a viticultural oasis fed by the Swartberg waters, semi-desert climate with strong thermal swings. Muscadel (Muscat à Petits Grains and Frontignan) is the signature in sweet fortified wines: golden to amber robe, intensely aromatic with fresh raisins, honey, candied apricot, orange blossom and a musky hint. Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon as warm reds. Historic Karoo fortified tradition.
