The white Chardonnay is a grape variety that originated in France (Burgundy). It produces a variety of grape specially used for wine making. It is rare to find this grape to eat on our tables. Delle Venezie, is one of Italy's best-known wine appellations, made famous by the huge quantities of crisp, light Pinot Grigio delle Venezie shipped to the UK and US from northeastern Italy each year. In 2017, the name was transferred to a New DOC in the same area, and the IGT changed its name to Trevenezie. The former IGT delle Venezie white wines could very well end up in either appellation. The grape varieties used or the style of wine may dictate how the wines will be labeled from 2017.
