The wine region of Montagu is located in the region of Klein Karoo of Western Cape of South Africa. Wineries and vineyards like the Domaine Boschkloof or the Domaine Montagu Wine & Spirits produce mainly wines natural sweet, white and red. The most planted grape varieties in the region of Montagu are Chenin blanc, Muscadelle and Colombard, they are then used in wines in blends or as a single variety. On the nose of Montagu often reveals types of flavors of non oak, earth or microbio and sometimes also flavors of vegetal, oak or tree fruit.
We currently count 2 estates and châteaux in the of Montagu, producing 6 different wines in conventional, organic and biodynamic agriculture. The wines of Montagu go well with generally quite well with dishes of shellfish, lean fish or fruity desserts.
