The wine region of Granja-Amareleja is located in the region of Alentejo of Alentejano of Portugal. Wineries and vineyards like the Domaine Granja Amareleja or the Domaine Casa Ferreirinha produce mainly wines red and natural sweet. On the nose of Granja-Amareleja often reveals types of flavors of earth, microbio or oak and sometimes also flavors of citrus fruit, red fruit or black fruit. Wine lovers with a valid passport can apply for the Majestic ‘vintern’ scheme, launched this week and dubbed by the retailer as ‘the best summer job ever’. Tasting the 2020 Côte-Rôties reminded me of the 2016s – while some are on the light side, the wines are ripe with a fine tannic frame. They are noticeably more slender and less potent than the previous few vintages and will drink well straight away.
