Ward of the Western Cape ("Heaven and Earth" in Dutch) near Hermanus: Pinot Noir and Chardonnay are the signature wines with a restrained Burgundian profile. Chardonnay with vibrant acidity and clear minerality — citrus, apple and pear rather than tropical. Spicy and savoury Pinot Noir with cherries, raspberries and earthy notes.
