Wine sub-region of Kakheti ("Outer Kakheti", northern left bank of the Alazani and Caucasus foothills). Indigenous Saperavi is the flagship red — deep and structured with intense notes of blackberry, black cherry, prune, ink and a refined spicy-balsamic Caucasian character, firm tannins, near-black colour for exceptional ageing. Rkatsiteli and Mtsvane Kakhuri are lively whites with citrus and apricot, sublimated in amber qvevri. Millennial Georgian cradle of wine.
