Supple, fruity reds with a deep robe and melted tannins, featuring aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry, plum, violet, soft spices and garrigue notes. Good consistency and short-to-medium ageing capacity. Made in blends and as a single variety in Languedoc-Roussillon (IGP Pays d'Oc) and exported massively to China where it has become an emblematic quality signature. Also in Brazil and Argentina. The wine region of Hawke's Bay
Reference for great New Zealand reds, warm maritime climate (2,200 h of sun). Bordeaux blends on Gimblett Gravels: round, fruity Merlot (plum, ripe cherry), firm Cabernet Sauvignon (blackcurrant, cedar), perfumed Cabernet Franc. Signature northern-Rhône-style Syrah: peppery and floral (violet, blackberry, black olive), fine tannins. Structured, mineral Chardonnay.

Grenache is a black grape variety that originated in Spain and is one of the great quality varieties of southern France. Sometimes vinified on its own, it is most often blended with one or more other Rhone or southern grape varieties with complementary qualities such as Syrah, Mourvèdre, Carignan or Cinsault. Its wines are warm, with aromas of red fruits (cherry) and spices; they oxidize with time. Vinified alone or in very large proportions, Grenache Noir also makes great natural sweet wines in Roussillon (Rivesaltes, Banyuls, Maury) and in the Rhône Valley (Rasteau).
