Wine region of west-central Georgia in the Rioni gorges, humid subtropical climate moderated by the mountains. Traditional vinification in churi (buried jars, close to the qvevri). Signature indigenous whites: Tsolikouri (the most planted — citrus, apple, flowers, honey), lively, floral Tsitska (in sparkling), ample Krakhuna (pear, apricot).
