The wine region of Bonnievale
Ward of the Robertson district (Breede River Valley, Western Cape, South Africa) east on the R60 at the foot of the Langeberg: Chardonnay (Calcrete unwooded since 2017) is the crystalline mineral signature evoking Chablis, Chenin Blanc, Shiraz and Sauvignon Blanc as complements. Rare limestone soils in South Africa deliver saline freshness and tension. Sun-drenched valley cooled by cold nights — private Keerom dam ensuring water supply.
The wine region of Western Cape
Cradle of South African wine. Signature Chenin Blanc (Steen, 20%) in ample, fresh whites with notes of quince, yellow apple, honey and acacia flower, from crisp dry to sweet. Sharp, iodised Sauvignon Blanc (Walker Bay, Constantia), balanced Chardonnay. Reds: emblematic Pinotage with roasted aromas (coffee, plum, smoke), firm Cabernet Sauvignon, spicy Syrah.
