The Heraclio Alfaro Estate is a remarkable winery located in the region of La Rioja, Spain, renowned for its exceptional wine. It is named after Heraclio Alfaro, a legendary figure who marked the history of Spanish aviation and who is native to this region. The estate spans approximately 120 hectares of vineyards that benefit from a Mediterranean climate, ideal for viticulture. Part of the vineyard is over 80 years old, and the different varieties of grapes grown, including Tempranillo, Graciano, Mazuelo and Viura, lend themselves perfectly to the creation of expressive wines reflecting the terroir of La Rioja. At the heart of the Heraclio Alfaro Estate stands a splendid building, which houses the winemaking cellar. Built in a traditional style, it is equipped with modern tools and techniques to ensure superior-quality winemaking. The estate applies a philosophy of respecting nature, with farming proposed in balance with the natural cycle of the grapes, without the use of unbalancing chemical products. The wines produced here are renowned for their quality, elegance, and faithful representation of the terroir of La Rioja. They offer a range of flavors from red and black fruits to exotic spices, with notes of tobacco and leather. All wines are aged in French and American oak barrels, and are then bottled without filtration to preserve their intensity and authenticity. The Heraclio Alfaro Estate is more than just a winery. Discovering the wine region of Rioja

Rioja, in northern Spain, is best known for its berry-flavored, barrel-aged red wines made from Tempranillo and Garnacha. It is probably the leading wine region in Spain. It is certainly the most famous, rivaling only Jerez. The Vineyards follow the course of the Ebro for a hundred kilometres between the towns of Haro and Alfaro.

Besides Tempranillo and Garnacha, Graciano and Mazuelo (Carignan) are also used in Rioja's red wines. Some wineries, notably Marqués de Riscal, use small amounts of Cabernet Sauvignon. White grapes are planted much less. In 2017, the vineyard area was recorded at 64,215 hectares (158,679 acres).
