Discover the grape variety: Teroldego

Powerful and intensely coloured reds with an almost black inky colour, firm tannins and precise acidity, on aromas of blackberry, black plum, black cherry, violet, spices, liquorice and balsamic notes. Fine ageing potential. The near-exclusive star of Teroldego Rotaliano DOC on the alluvial plain of Campo Rotaliano in northern Trentino, also made as taut rosés. Native variety of Trentino, a genetic parent of Syrah and related to Lagrein.

Top wine Jura

The wine region of Arbois Pupillin

Sub-appellation of Arbois around the commune of Pupillin (Jura): five grapes — Chardonnay, Savagnin (the most expressive in the Jura), Pinot Noir, Poulsard and Trousseau. Full-bodied and fruity Chardonnay or Chardonnay-Savagnin blend (10-20%) whites, sometimes vin jaune character under the veil. Ageable Trousseau reds with red fruits and spices. Signature "onion skin" Poulsard roses, delicate and pale.

The wine region of Jura

Unique Franche-Comté region between Burgundy and Switzerland, incomparable oxidative identity. Signature mythical Vin Jaune from Savagnin: aged 6 years 3 months in cask under flor, intense whites with signature green walnut, curry, cumin, russet apple, honey and lingering iodine — 62 cl clavelin, century-long ageing. Also classic topped-up Chardonnay (citrus, butter), pale light Poulsard red (strawberry, undergrowth), dense Trousseau, fine Pinot Noir. Sweet Vin de Paille.

The word of the wine: Burgundy melon

A white grape variety from Burgundy that is not widely used in its native region, but has spread to the Nantes region. It is the exclusive variety of Muscadet. It gives a dry pale yellow wine, supple and lively, with an intense bouquet, to which maturing on lees gives fatness and aromatic complexity.
