The wine region of Castel San Lorenzo

Campanian DOC of the interior Cilento (Salerno: Castel San Lorenzo, Felitto, Aquara), hilly temperate terroirs. Barbera (introduced 19th c. ) is the flagship red — structured and fresh with vibrant notes of cherry, raspberry, red fruits, spices and a refined herbaceous-southern character, taut acidity (Riserva ≥2 yrs, 6 months in barrel). Sangiovese and Aglianico as full-bodied reds.

The wine region of Campania

Cradle of southern Italy's great wines on volcanic soils. Majestic Aglianico in red: structured, deep and tannic with notes of black cherry, candied plum, leather and spices, sublimated in age-worthy Taurasi DOCG, the "Barolo of the south". Identity whites of Irpinia: opulent Fiano di Avellino (honey, hazelnut), mineral iodine Greco di Tufo, aromatic Falanghina (peach, flowers). Also supple Piedirosso.

The word of the wine: VDQS

Delimited wine of superior quality. A level of appellation (today, barely 1% of French production) which constitutes the ultimate step before the accession to the AOC.
