Eastern sub-region of DOCa Rioja (renamed Rioja Oriental in 2018, warm Mediterranean climate, ferruginous alluvial soils). Garnacha: sunlit, opulent red with ripe red fruit, plum, gentle spice, garrigue and a balsamic-fleshy edge — generous alcohol, soft acidity. Tempranillo adds structure with red fruit and leather. Full-flavoured everyday wines with vibrant fruit.
