Intraspecific cross between the limberger and the dornfelder made in 1971 by Bernard Hill of the Weinsberg Research Institute in Germany. It can be found in the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, Poland, the Czech Republic and the United States. Note that Cabernet Dorio has the same parents.

Saale-Unstrut is the northernmost of Germany's 13 wine-growing regions. At 51 degrees northern latitude, it is one of the most northerly wine regions in the world. It takes its name from the two rivers on the banks of which the Vines of the region grow, and is composed of three non-contiguous Parts located mainly in the federal state of Saxony-Anhalt, with around 650 hectares (1600 acres) of Vineyards, often terraced, on South and south-west-facing slopes along the narrow river valleys. A smaller area of 20 hectares (50 acres) is located in the state of Thüringen and a block of just 7 hectares (17 acres) in Brandenburg.

Cambridge University study suggests smaller glasses can reduce overall wine consumption
The researchers conducted a crossover trial featuring 217 UK households that drink wine on a regular basis. They were randomly given 290ml or 350ml glasses to drink from during the four-week study period. Big push on Rhône Valley whites underway
President of Inter Rhône Philippe Pellaton put forward the body’s ambitious commercial strategy from now until 2035 at the Maison des Vins on 8th December.
