Discovering the wine region of Wyoming
Wyoming is a state located in the northwestern United States, east of the Rocky Mountains. Covering an area of 253,000 km², Wyoming is the tenth largest state in the United States, but also the least populated.
Wyoming's traditional industries are based on mining (coal, diamonds and uranium) and drilling (oil and gas), and its agriculture is centered on vegetables and fruits (rhubarb, cherries and apples). Viticulture is rare, so Wyoming wine is rarely seen outside the state.
Wyoming Lies between latitudes 41°N and 45°N, which puts it on par with some of Europe's most famous wine regions, including Bordeaux and Rioja. However, there are other climatic considerations: Wyoming's Climate is definitely continental, and the nearest Body of water is Lake Superior, located 1,000 km from the state's eastern border. The eastern plains of Wyoming are characterized by hot summers and cold winters, and temperatures in the mountains of western Wyoming are cool even in summer.

The US still comes top on the list of which countries drink the most wine overall, according to to preliminary figures released this week by the International Organisation of Vine & Wine (OIV).
