The wine region of Devon Valley is located in the region of Stellenbosch of Western Cape of South Africa. Wineries and vineyards like the Domaine Kyburg or the Domaine Kyburg produce mainly wines red, sparkling and white. The most planted grape varieties in the region of Devon Valley are Merlot, Cabernet-Sauvignon and Pinotage, they are then used in wines in blends or as a single variety. On the nose of Devon Valley often reveals types of flavors of earth, tree fruit or oak and sometimes also flavors of tropical fruit, non oak or spices.
In the mouth of Devon Valley is a powerful with a nice balance between acidity and tannins. We currently count 3 estates and châteaux in the of Devon Valley, producing 9 different wines in conventional, organic and biodynamic agriculture. The wines of Devon Valley go well with generally quite well with dishes of beef, lamb or veal.
Clotilde Davenne, from the eponymous estate, mentions the cherry as a main characteristic of the Irancy appellation. She tells us about the Pinot Noir variety which reveals, in its northern location of Bourgogne, lots of freshness and fruitiness that gives the appellation a very special place among the wines of the region.
