The wine region of Hemel-en-Aarde Ridge is located in the region of Walker Bay of Western Cape of South Africa. Wineries and vineyards like the Domaine Whalehaven or the Domaine La Vierge produce mainly wines red and white. The most planted grape varieties in the region of Hemel-en-Aarde Ridge are Pinot noir, Chardonnay and Nebbiolo, they are then used in wines in blends or as a single variety. On the nose of Hemel-en-Aarde Ridge often reveals types of flavors of oaky, smoke or dried fruit and sometimes also flavors of citrus blossom, vegetal or straw.
In the mouth of Hemel-en-Aarde Ridge is a powerful with a nice freshness. We currently count 7 estates and châteaux in the of Hemel-en-Aarde Ridge, producing 15 different wines in conventional, organic and biodynamic agriculture.
