The wine region of West Morava of Serbia. Wineries and vineyards like the Domaine Miletic or the Domaine Miletic produce mainly wines red, pink and white. The most planted grape varieties in the region of West Morava are Merlot, Cabernet-Sauvignon and Pinot noir, they are then used in wines in blends or as a single variety. On the nose of West Morava often reveals types of flavors of red fruit, oak or tree fruit and sometimes also flavors of citrus fruit.
We currently count 4 estates and châteaux in the of West Morava, producing 7 different wines in conventional, organic and biodynamic agriculture. The wines of West Morava go well with generally quite well with dishes of beef, game (deer, venison) or rich fish (salmon, tuna etc).
The small island of Gorgona, just off the coast of Livorno, isn’t your run-of-the-mill viticultural area – its main purpose is to serve as a penal colony. Not just any prisoner can reside on Gorgona, however. Up to 90 incarcerated men live on the island at a time, alongside 17 residents and a handful of police officers.
