Portuguese DOC north of Lisbon (Arruda dos Vinhos, Sobral de Monte Agraço, Vila Franca de Xira). Castelão (Periquita), Aragonez (Tinta Roriz), Tinta Miúda, Touriga Nacional and Trincadeira — full-bodied, sun-drenched reds with intense notes of black cherry, blackberry, plum, garrigue, spice and a balsamic-Mediterranean touch, rounded tannins.
