The wine region of Colli Aprutini is located in the region of Abruzzes of Italy. Wineries and vineyards like the Domaine Masciarelli or the Domaine Emidio Pepe produce mainly wines white, red and pink. The most planted grape varieties in the region of Colli Aprutini are Pecorino, Chardonnay and Cabernet-Sauvignon, they are then used in wines in blends or as a single variety. On the nose of Colli Aprutini often reveals types of flavors of grapefruit, microbio or red fruit and sometimes also flavors of tropical fruit, acacia or floral.
In the mouth of Colli Aprutini is a powerful with a nice freshness. We currently count 43 estates and châteaux in the of Colli Aprutini, producing 99 different wines in conventional, organic and biodynamic agriculture. The wines of Colli Aprutini go well with generally quite well with dishes of beef, pasta or veal.
For those unfamiliar with the Vino de Pago qualification, it was created in Spain in 2003 to certify singular estates (pagos) as Protected Denominations of Origin. While not a requisite, it’s generally implemented by individual wineries looking to gain protected status for a single vineyard site within their domain.
