The wine region of Saussignac is located in the region of Guyenne of South West of France. Wineries and vineyards like the Château Court-Les-Mûts or the Domaine Les Vignerons de Sigoulès produce mainly wines sweet, white and pink. The most planted grape varieties in the region of Saussignac are Muscadelle et Chenin blanc, they are then used in wines in blends or as a single variety. On the nose of Saussignac often reveals types of flavors of honey, earth or citrus fruit and sometimes also flavors of tree fruit, pear or microbio.
We currently count 25 estates and châteaux in the of Saussignac, producing 34 different wines in conventional, organic and biodynamic agriculture. The wines of Saussignac go well with generally quite well with dishes of rich fish (salmon, tuna etc), shellfish or sweet desserts.
While taller overall vines do exist in regions such as Galicia with their pergola training method, the roots of any vine usually top out at 37cm. Vaughan-Arbuckle was the founder and director of Vinopolis, the award-winning wine-themed visitor attraction which was located on London’s Bankside from 1999 to 2015.
