An interspecific cross between Riesling and FR 589-54 (Seyve-Villard 12481 x (pinot gris or rülander x chasselas or gutedel)) obtained in Germany in 1968 by Johannes Zimmermann. It has the particularity of having only one gene for resistance to mildew and powdery mildew. This variety can be found in Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, the Netherlands, etc. In France, it is practically unknown. Note that the "Johanniter" grape variety is a protected trademark.

Ohio is a Midwestern state located South of the Great Lakes, between Pennsylvania to the east and Indiana to the west. Traditionally devoted to the production of GrapeJuice and jelly, Ohio is increasingly known for its wine industry and is now one of the top ten wine producing states in the country (although its production is nowhere near that of California, which produces about 90% of American wine). Ohio's Vineyards are home to vinifera and Hybrid grape varieties, including Riesling, Chardonnay and Vidal. The word of the wine: Bordeaux barrel
Barrels of 220 to 225 litres. The toasting of the barrel to bend the staves (curved boards used to make the barrels) can vary according to the coopers and the demand. A gentle and slow toasting has little effect on the aromas. On the other hand, a strong toasting gives aromas of coffee or cocoa which will influence the taste of the wine. A wine barrel has already been aged for a year and has less impact on the wine than a new barrel.
