Discover the grape variety: Gros Cabernet

A very old variety grown in the Bordeaux region, where it originated. It is the result of a natural intraspecific cross between iron and black txakoli, although this has yet to be confirmed, especially as the latter has the same synonym (h)ondarrabi beltza, which is also attributed to cabernet franc. According to genetic analyses carried out in Montpellier (Hérault), gros Cabernet is the mother of carmenère. Almost unknown in other French wine regions, gros Cabernet is no longer replanted and is therefore in danger of disappearing. The wine region of Estrémadure

Extremadura is one of the 17 administrative regions (officially "autonomous communities") of Spain. It is located in the Southwest of the country, on the border with Portugal. It is separated from Andalusia in the south by the Sierra Morena mountains, and from the Central plateau and Castile by the Sierra de Gata range. Extremadura is sparsely populated, but has an abundance of wildlife, such as deer, otters and even lynx.

The word of the wine: Mineral

Taste reminiscent of gunflint, chalk and many nuances of the mineral world, and reinforcing, especially in white wines, the notion of freshness and the sappy character.
