The wine region of Nea Messimvria is located in the region of Thessaloniki of Macedonia of Greece. Wineries and vineyards like the Domaine Trakas or the Domaine Trakas produce mainly wines white and red. The most planted grape varieties in the region of Nea Messimvria are Merlot, they are then used in wines in blends or as a single variety. We currently count 1 estates and châteaux in the of Nea Messimvria, producing 3 different wines in conventional, organic and biodynamic agriculture.
The wines of Nea Messimvria go well with generally quite well with dishes of beef, game (deer, venison) or rich fish (salmon, tuna etc).
